In 2008, Pierre Zalloua of the Lebanese American University (LAU) visited UC Davis College of Biological Sciences and UC Davis Department of Anthropology to discuss collaborations around DNA research, give the Storer Lecture and meet with key research partners. The visit was hosted by the UC Davis College of Biological Sciences and co-organized by Dean Kenneth Burtis and Suad Joseph. Pierre Zalloua returned to UC Davis in October 2009. In 2010, he made a three day visit to the American University in Cairo (AUC) as a Distinguished Visiting Professor to establish collaborations between LAU, AUC, and UC Davis’ biotechnology programs. In March 2012, Vice Chancellor Harris Lewin began a discussion with him concerning mitochondrial DNA research. In January 2015 he visited UC Davis to continue the collaborations.
